.com(1) (.COMmercial) A top-level Internet domain used mainly by businesses; however, it is not restricted and a .com domain can be registered for any purpose. Because the "dot-com" address is used by major companies throughout the world, it is the most coveted top-level domain. See .name, Internet domain name and dot-com.
