10/100 Ethernet

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
10/100 Ethernet
The local area network commonly used in all companies and many homes. The 10/100 refers to 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps, the two data rates in widespread use. The first Ethernet networks ran at 10 Mbps, and older computers and network components are limited to that speed. New devices run at 100 Mbps but also support the earlier 10 Mbps for backward compatibility. See 10/100 adapter, 10/100 switch and Ethernet.

"Twisted Pair" Ethernet
All stations in 10/100 Ethernet networks are wired to a central hub or switch using twisted pair wires and RJ-45 connectors.
