(organic chemistry) C6H14Volatile, flammable, colorless liquid boiling at 50°C; used as high-octane component of motor and aviation gasolines. Neohexane (also called 2,2-dimethylbutane), CH3C (CH3)2 - CH2CH3, a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 49.7°C. Neo-hexane is a component of petroleums and gasolines.
