Third Eye

(religion, spiritualism, and occult)

The Third Eye is a spot between and slightly above the eyebrows, which coincides with the pineal gland. It is regarded as a mystical center and is the position of the sixth chakra. “Seeing” with the Third Eye is a form of clairvoyance. This spot is the focus for Oriental mystical meditation and is known in yoga philosophy as the ajna chakra, or center of command. In Tantric teachings, it is regarded as “the seat of the mental faculties; the abode of the individual consciousness; and the meeting place of the divine.” Omar Garrison said, “meditation upon the ajna will result in sadhaka’s (aspirant) being released from the consequences of actions in previous incarnations.”
