binding post The connecting terminals on a power amplifier or speaker. Also called "posts" or "terminals," high-end stereo equipment often uses gold-plated binding posts with screw caps that make tight connections. Five-way binding posts are also used that accept several connector types. Low-end bindings use spring clips, which are lifted while the bare wire is inserted and then released.
