Abashidze, Kita
Born 1870; died 1917. Georgian critic and publicist. Abashidze was a representative of the comparative-historical method in Georgian literary criticism. His literary and aesthetic views were influenced by H. Taine, G. Brandes, and especially F. Brunetiére. The first to carry out the basic classification of modern Georgian literature according to literary schools and trends, Abashidze wrote in an erudite and aesthetic style in his critical works.
