Abdullin, Rishat Mukimovich
Born Mar. 14, 1916. Soviet operatic artist (baritone). People’s Artist of the USSR (1967). Member of the CPSU since 1955. Abdullin graduated from the Kazakh studio of the Moscow Conservatory in 1937. In 1939 he became a soloist with the Theater of Opera and Ballet in Alma-Ata. His roles have included Sugur and Artem (in Brusilovskii’s Zhalbyr’ and Dudarai), Kozhagul (in Tulebaev’s Birzhan and Sara), Abai (in Zhubanov’s and Khamidi’s Abai), Onegin (in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin), the Demon (in Rubinshtein’s Demon), and Escamillo (in Bizet’s Carmen).
