Abdumomunov, Toktobolot 

Born Aug. 15, 1922, in the village of Dzhany-Alysh, Kemin Raion, Kirghiz SSR. Soviet Kirghiz writer. Member of the CPSU since 1959.

Abdumomunov’s works were first published in 1945. His topical plays Narrow Ravine (1953–54) and Atabek’s Daughter (1955) and particularly his dramatic novella Conscience Won’t Allow It (1966) played a significant role in shaping postwar dramaturgy. The life and activities of Toktogul Satylganov are depicted in the play Love and Hope (1966). Abdumomunov was awarded the Toktogul Satylganov State Prize of the Republic for the plays Conscience Won’t Allow It and Love and Hope. He also writes for children. Abdumomunov was elected deputy to the 6th session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He was secretary of the Union of Writers of Kirghizia from 1959 to 1971. He has been a member of the Central Committee of the CP of Kirghizia since 1962.
