Abel, Othenio 

Born June 20, 1875; died July 4, 1946. Austrian paleontologist.

Abel was the author of works on the paleobiology of specific groups of animals, on the traces of activity of extinct organisms, and on research methods of paleobiology. He accepted the doctrine of vitalism on several questions of the development of the organic world.
