Abkhazian Range
on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus in the Abkhazian ASSR. It is the eastern continuation of the Bzyb’ Range and extends parallel to the Main, or Watershed, Range, separated from it by the peaks of the Bzyb’ and the Chkhalta Valley. It is 60 km long and reaches 3,156 m at its highest point. Its jagged glacier-formed crest has glaciers even now. The range is composed of Jurassic porphyroids and slate.
