After its move to Moscow in 1938, Academia merged with the State Literature Publishing House. M. Gorky was the chairman of its editorial committee. In the late 1920’s the house began publishing the series Treasures of World Literature, Classics of World Literature, and Monuments of Art and the Literary, Social, and Artistic Way of Life.
