Picrorhiza kurroa is a medicinal herb containing a number of active ingredients, including acetophenone derivatives (which have anti-asthmatic properties), kutkin (kutkoside and iridioids, which are hepato-protective), and curcubitacins (which have anti-tumor effects) (Picrorhiza kurroa, 2001).
