| Abstract: A rubber-based product, having at least one buffer zone
to trap oxygen in order to protect a sensitive zone from oxidation,
comprising a composition containing iron (III) acetylacetonate or an
iron (III) salt of a carboxylic acid, used in a tire to impart improved
rolling resistance. Crosslinking
SBC with aluminum acetylacetonate raises the softening point from 194 F
to around 302 F. Curing of these blends can be catalyzed with
octoates, naphthenates or acetylacetonates of copper, zinc, cobalt and
manganese. |
