She could feel the acid burn into her face, forehead, neck, chest, hands and abdomen.
Dang Huu Dung, a professor at the Agriculture and Forestry University, received acid burns to a third of his body, the Thanh Nien newspaper website reported, quoting the head of the burns unit at Cho Ray Hospital in southern Ho Chi Minh City.
In the total number of reported incidents, 1,897 women were killed, 1,784 abducted, 778 raped and 29 received acid burns, according to the report, "Situation of Violence Against Women in Pakistan in 2008".
