in civil proceedings, an owner’s demand that violations of his right to use and dispose of his property be eliminated, for example, the demand that his property be excluded from an inventory that prevents him from disposing of it. At the same time the owner retains possession of the property. Negatory action (actio negatoria)was known to Roman law.
