After graduating from college, Newman began developing his talents: He joined several summer stock companies, spent a year at Yale Drama School and then attended the New York Actors Studio, the school that taught "Method" acting to the likes of Marlon Brando, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe.
An unusual guest for Inside The Actors Studio, the meeting came about when Joel asked to perform on the award-winning series.
