an applied meteorological discipline that studies the effect of meteorological conditions on aircraft and aviation and that develops methods and forms for the meteorological servicing of aviation. The main practical task of aeronautical meteorology is to ensure flight safety and the efficient use of aircraft under different weather conditions. Aeronautical meteorology is closely related to aerodynamics, air navigation and ordinary navigation theory, radar meteorology, astronautics, and other fields.
