affiliate program
An arrangement whereby a Web site is paid for advertising a product if the user clicks the link. Affiliate programs are responsible for driving a huge amount of traffic to a target site. For example, many well-known Web retailers offer affiliate programs to thousands of Web site owners who agree to display the retailer's ads. See keyword advertising.
