Aion

an island in the East Siberian Sea, near the entrance to Chaun Bay, in Chukchi National Okrug, Magadan Oblast, RSFSR. It is separated from Kyttyk Peninsula by a narrow strait. The island’s area is about 2,000 sq km, and its highest point is 64 m. There are a few cliffs along the generally low shores. The island has been formed by friable deposits which include fossil ice. Arctic tundra predominates, and the island is used for summer reindeer pastures.
