Air Oasis

    0.01 sec.
Air Oasis

a device in a system of local forced ventilation that creates improved air conditions in a confined area on industrial premises (compared to the rest of the premises). An air oasis is a part of the premises open from above but surrounded by barriers about 2 m high into which outside air, usually purified and regulated as to heat and humidity, is blown through a network of air ducts. The air in the air oasis is always cooler than that in the general work area. Air oases are usually built around the control areas in machine rooms of steam power plants and so forth.
