Akershus (ä`kərs-h s'), county (1995 pop. 434,544), 1,895 sq mi (4,908 sq km), SE Norway, bordering on the Oslofjord in the south and on Sweden in the east. The capital is Oslo. Norske Skog has signed an agreement with Akershus Kraft AS to sell
its three power plants on the Halden River system, with this agreement,
all 13 of the hydro power plants that the company owns in Norway are to
be sold. 9 billion and in Oslo the company is building an immersed tunnel
under the Bjorvika cove, the Nya Akershus University Hospital and two
schools in a Private Public Partnership. Oslo's airport opened in the autumn of 1998, at Gardermoen in
the gently forested landscape of Akershus county, about 45km to the
north-east of the city. |
