Alazones

Scythian tribes who lived in the northern Pontic region. They are mentioned by Herodotus, Strabo, Pausanias, and Stephanus Byzantius. The Alazones lived north of Olvia, in the basin of the southern Bug, and practiced farming. Many settlements and sites of the Scythian period in the area of the Alazones’ habitation have not yet been thoroughly studied.
