Grinberg, Aleksandr Abramovich
Born Apr. 20 (May 2), 1898, in St. Petersburg; died July 16. 1966. in Leningrad. Soviet chemist; academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1958; corresponding member, 1943). Grinberg graduated from Leningrad University in 1924 as a pupil of L. A. Chugaev. From 1936 he was a professor at the Leningrad Technological Institute. He carried on research on the structure of complex salts of platinum and the isometry of derivatives of bivalent platinum and palladium, and he has studied the acid-base and oxidation-reduction properties of complex compounds, equilibriums in their aqueous solutions, and the application of tracer atoms in the chemistry of complex compounds.
