Alga, Aleksandr Egorovich 

Born Nov. 27, 1913, in the village Koshki-Novo-Timbaevo, Tetiushi Raion, Tatar ASSR. Soviet Chuvash poet. Member of the CPSU since 1943.

Alga was graduated from the Cheboksary Pedagogical Institute in 1938 and became a teacher. His first collection of poetry, Sunny Morn, was published in 1940. The anthologies In the Homeland (1952) and Volga Waves (1957) appeared in the postwar years. Alga writes for children.
