Ali Muhammad
Born 1878; died 1931. Indian public figure and journalist. Along with his brother Ali Shawkat, Ali Muhammad published the newspapers Komrad and Hamdard (1912–15), which played an important role in the political awakening of Muslim India. He was one of the organizers of the caliphate movement and during the 1920’s was simultaneously a leader of the Muslim League and the National Congress.
