Ali-Bairamly State Regional Electric Power Plant
(Ali-Bairamly GRES) a thermal electric station in the city of Ali-Bairamly, Azerbaijan SSR. One of the first electric power plants of the open type in the USSR. Construction of the plant began in 1959; the first unit, with a capacity of 150,000 kilowatts, went into operation in 1962. In August 1968 the plant was put into full operation, with a capacity of 1,080,000 kilowatts. The Kura River is the source of the plant’s technical water supply. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
