more correctly, Alipii. Died Aug. 17, 1114. Painter and jeweler of Old Russia. Alimpii was a monk of the Kievo-Pechersk Monastery. The Kievo-Pechersk Paterikon mentions his part in creating the mosaics of the nearby Uspenskii Cathedral (after 1083), as well as a number of his icons, which have been lost. REFERENCESSobko, N. P.
