It's an historic collection and this is a chance to see key works that would otherwise be in museums," said banker Bernard Alioth, who aims to bid for Art Deco and 18th century pieces at the auction, expected to fetch up to 300 million euros ((392 million dollars).
The new building, designed by Max Alioth and executed by Khalil Bennani, is an angular, modernist fortress replete with indoor and outdoor cinemas, two full film sets, soundproof auditoriums for recording and mixing, three labs for photography, 20 editing suites, a gallery for exhibitions and designated studios for the art students who will enter the school next year (18 film students matriculated in the fall of 2006; another 31 started in the fall of 2007).
