Altaidyn Cholmony

(Star of the Altai), a regional newspaper in the Altai language, published in the city of Gorno-Altaisk (Gorno-Altai Autotonomous Oblast, RSFSR). Altaidyn Cholmony was founded in 1922. Until 1948 it was issued under the name Kyzyl Oirot (Red Oirotiia), and since January 1948 as Altaidyn Cholmony. It is published five times a week, and has a circulation of 4,000 (1968).
