Altyntu 

mountain ridge of the Altai, west of Teletskoe Lake in the Gorno-Altai Autonomous Oblast of the Altai Krai, RSFSR. The Altyntu is 70 km long and 1,600 -1,800 m high. (The highest peak is 2,361 m.) The Altyntu is formed of variegated extrusive rocks and granites. There is medium-sized mountain topography, with Alpine in the southeast. Dark coniferous (chernevaia) taiga predominates to an elevation of 1,800 m; subalpine thin forests and tundra are found higher up.
