aluminized steel [ə′lüm·ə‚nīzd ′stēl]
(metallurgy)
A steel coated with an aluminum-iron alloy coating; prepared by dip-coating and diffusing aluminum into steel at 1600°F (870°C); resists scaling and oxidation up to 1650°F (900°C). Also known as alumetized steel; calorized steel.
