Alvensleben Convention of 1863
agreement between Russia and Prussia to help each other’s military forces in their struggle against the Polish rebels during the Polish Revolution of 1863–64. It was signed January 27 (February 8) in St. Petersburg by the Russian minister of foreign affairs, Prince A. M. Gorchakov, and the adjutant general of the king of Prussia, G. von Alvensleben.
