Amazon Dash

A stand-alone button that initiates an order to Amazon.com over the home Wi-Fi network. Introduced in 2015 as part of the Amazon Prime membership and designed to make replenishing common household items easier, Dash buttons are programmed by the user to order a product. A number of staples including soap, paper products, diapers and soft drinks were selected for the initial service.

The Dash Replenishment Service (DRS)
The Dash button is part of Amazon's replenishment service, which lets vendors build automatic reordering into their washing machines, coffee makers and other appliances. See Amazon Echo.

Running Out - Press the Button
Dash buttons are designed to stick on or near an appliance. However, users must confirm orders to keep children and curiosity seekers from making unnecessary purchases. (Image courtesy of Amazon.com.)
