Amber Shells
(also amber snails), a family of terrestrial gastropodal mollusks of the order Stylommatophora. The shell is thin and amber in color. Approximately 200 species are known. They are found by bodies of water and in other damp places, for example, in grass and shrubs. Some species are intermediate hosts for parasitic worms, including the fluke Leucochloridium paradoxum.
