Amiraslanov, Ali Agamaly ogly
Born Dec. 22, 1900; died Oct. 16, 1962. Soviet geologist, corresponding member of the Academy of the Sciences of the USSR (1953). Member of the CPSU since 1920. Amiraslanov worked in geology research institutes after graduating from the Moscow Mining Academy (1930). After 1954 he held high posts in the ministry of Nonferrous Metallurgy and the Ministry of Geological Survey and the Conservation of Mineral Resources of the USSR. His main work has been on the deposits of nonferrous metals in the Urals, Kazakhstan, Transbaikalia, and Central Asia. He participated in the discovery of several deposits of nonferrous metals.
