Ampex

(Ampex Corporation, Redwood City, CA, www.ampex.com) A manufacturer of video storage and image processing products. Founded in 1944 by Alexander M. Poniatoff, Ampex pioneered the video recording industry, introducing the first videotape recorder in 1956 and providing innovative products for the TV broadcasting industry ever since, including video recording, video storage and special effects processing.
