Anchishkin, Aleksandr Ivanovich 

Born Aug. 11, 1933, in Moscow. Soviet economist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1976). Member of the CPSU from 1963.

Anchishkin graduated from Moscow State University in 1956. In 1971 he was put in charge of the department of national economic forecasting of the Central Economic Mathematical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and he served simultaneously (from 1976) as head of the subdepartment of economic planning of the department of economics of Moscow State University and as deputy chairman of the Scientific Board of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and of the State Committee of the USSR on Science and Technology, where he dealt with scientific and technological questions and socioeconomic forecasting. Anchishkin’s chief works are on the theory of socialist reproduction, national economic methodology, socioeconomic and scientific-technological forecasting, and macroeconomic modeling.
