Established: Authorized as a national monument on August 29, 1935; redesignated as a national historic site on December 11, 1963.
Location: On the corner of College and Depot streets in Greeneville, Tennessee. From I-81S take Exit 36 to Rt. 172 south to Greeneville. From I-81N take Exit 23 to Rt. 11E north to Greeneville.
Facilities: Rest rooms (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit (é), self-guided tour/trail. Entrance fee required.
Activities: Guided tours.
Special Features: This site includes two homes and the tailor shop of the 17th President, who served from 1865 to 1869, and the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, where the President is buried.
