Andrews, (Elisha) Benjamin (1844–1917) college president; born in Hinsdale, N.H. A popular teacher of history and political economy, he became president of Brown University (1889–98), where he expanded enrollments and established a new Women's College. As chancellor of the University of Nebraska (1900–08) he added new departments and schools.
