Andrews, Bert (1901–53) journalist; born in Colorado Springs, Colo. As Washington reporter and bureau chief for the New York Herald Tribune in the 1940s and early 1950s, he scored many scoops and won a 1947 Pulitzer Prize for articles on government loyalty investigations; he also helped uncover evidence that led to the perjury conviction of Alger Hiss.
