Anilius
a genus of reptiles of the family Ilysiidae (cylinder snakes). The single species, the false coral snake (A. scytale), is found in tropical America. The snake reaches 80 cm in length and is coral-red with numerous black transverse stripes. It is a live-bearing burrowing snake.
