Anina
a city in western Rumania in the mountains of Banat, Caransebes district. Population, approximately 12,000. An established mining center, Anina arose with the development of a coal industry. Its coal mines supply the coke and chemicals plant in Reşitţa; there are also metalworking and wood working enterprises. Anina is a mountain resort and winter sports center.
