Anisim Poliakov

Poliakov, Anisim Aleksandrovich 

Born Feb. 15 (28), 1904, in the village of Novaia, Iurginskoe Raion, Tiumen’ Oblast. Soviet scientist in veterinary sanitation and disinfection. Academician (1966) of the V. I. Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VASKhNIL). Member of the CPSU from 1929.

Poliakov graduated from the Siberian Veterinary Institute in the city of Omsk in 1928. From 1934 to 1967 he was director of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Veterinary Sanitation (before 1955, laboratory director). From 1969 to 1972 he was academician-secretary of the department of veterinary medicine of VASKhNIL. His principal works are on disinfection and insect, rat, and parasite control of animal-husbandry farms, raw-material and food plants, and transport. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and various medals.
