anodizingMethod of coating metal for corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, thermal control, abrasion resistance, sealing, improving paint adhesion, and decorative finishing. Anodizing consists of electrically depositing an oxide film from aqueous solution onto the surface of a metal, often aluminum, which serves as the anode in an electrolytic cell. In the most common type of anodizing, which uses a 15% sulfuric acid bath, dyes can be introduced into the oxidation process to achieve a coloured surface. Aluminum thus anodized and coloured is used widely in giftware, home appliances, and architectural decoration. How to thank TFD for its existence? | Grain refining also enhances the properties of the cast component, producing castings with increased pressure tightness and mechanical properties, better response to heat treatment, more uniform anodizing and improved machinability. In a presentation of the proposed regulations, Air Resources Board officials say, "Despite stringent regulation, chrome plating and chromic acid anodizing facilities continue to be a source of adverse exposures, especially to nearby people. A 3mm thick j57S anodizing quality aluminium was used; this carries a warranty which guarantees durability and colour uniformity, even when different batches of J57S are used. |
