Apilac
(from Latin apis, bee, and lac, milk), a biogenic medicinal preparation composed of the dried milk of queen bees. Apilae is used in cases of lowered intake of food (hypotrophy) and lack of appetite among infants who are breastfeeding or very young children (in the form of suppositories). It is also used (in tablets taken under the tongue) to treat hypotonicity, nervous disorders, seborrhea of the facial skin, and other adult ailments. It is contraindicated in cases of Addison’s disease or heightened sensitivity (idiosyncrasy) to the preparation. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
