Appeal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union
an appeal to the workers of the USSR and the world made on May 1 or on the anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Until 1943 such an address was called a Slogan of the Central Committee of the ACP(B). The appeals express the foreign and domestic policy of the CPSU and of the Soviet government. They hail the workers of the USSR and the world and call on them to strengthen international ties. The Central Committee of the CPSU can in this way direct the working people’s attention to the most important and pressing tasks before them in the building of communism.
