Apple III

An enhanced version of the Apple II personal computer that was introduced in 1980 for the business market. It never caught on due to initial hardware problems, insufficient Apple II compatibility and a high price. See Apple II and Apple.

Perhaps that's true (though it's curious that no one at Apple these days seems to remember the Apple III or the Lisa, two flawed platforms that didn't survive).
