Arboleda, Julio (h
`lyō ärbōlā`thä), 1817–61, Colombian poet and politician. A powerful political force, he was for a time imprisoned and then exiled. He returned to lead a revolt (1860) against Mosquera Mosquera, Tomás Cipriano de , 1798–1878, Colombian general and president. He first gained attention by his service in the war against Spain.
