Archi 

one of the minor nationalities of Western Dagestan. They live in the village of Archi and on a number of farmsteads in the Charodinskii Raion of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. The language of the Archi belongs to the Lezgin group of the Dagestanian languages. Writing is in the Avar and Russian languages. The Archi believers profess the Muslim Sunnite faith. The main occupation is the pasturing of livestock (chiefly sheep raising).
