Arctic Bramble

Arctic Bramble 

(Rubus arcticus), a short perennial herbaceous plant of the family Rosaceae. The straight stem is 10–30 cm long; the leaves are ternate with stipules. The red blossoms are frequently solitary. The fruit contains many stones (aggregate stone fruit); usually purple, it is fragrant and edible both raw and cooked. The arctic bramble is found in northern Eurasia and in North America in moist places of the tundra and forest zones. Sometimes the Russian name for the artic bramble, kniazhenika, is also applied to the red currant.
